Job Summary
Retail Freight Team Leader responsible for overseeing the receiving area operations and freight flow to the sales floor in a mid- to large-size retailer. Tasks include unloading, checking in, and merchandising shipments; receiving and verifying direct vendor shipments; managing freight flow and receiving-area safety; setting up and designing merchandise displays; processing outbound transfers; directing other associates; and acting as Manager on Duty with store opening/closing duties. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of retail experience; strong organizational, leadership, and customer-service skills; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible hours (early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays). The role is on-site at the Dayton, OH store and includes benefits such as medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, and associate discounts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer
- Schedule flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a safe manner
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Direct the work of other Associates in freight-flow processes
- Act as Manager on Duty as assigned
