Job Summary
Plan, unload, check in, and support the merchandising of distribution shipments. Receive, verify, and merchandise all direct vendor shipments while maintaining back stock and managing damaged goods disposition. Manage effective freight flow in the receiving area, ensuring equipment safety and orderly dock conditions. Adhere to company standards for incoming merchandise accuracy and design merchandise displays. Direct the work of other Associates assisting with freight flow processes. Act as Manager on Duty, completing additional responsibilities including store opening and closing. Requires flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer
- Schedule flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks while working within strict timeframes and deadlines
- Must have a positive attitude and the ability to interact well with customers and associates
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull up to 35 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
