Retail Food Department Manager

Job Summary
Oversee the Food Department across South Haven, Benton Harbor, Stevensville, and surrounding stores, rotating locations based on seasonal business needs. Drive team member engagement through onboarding, coaching, feedback, and performance management while directing Leads and Team Leaders. Manage area operations and financials by owning budget line items in the P&L, forecasting staffing, and resolving customer conflicts. Ensure safety, compliance, and condition management while implementing process improvements to maximize sales and productivity. Identify talent for a diversified leadership pipeline and uphold Meijer culture standards. Requires Bachelor's degree, 4+ years of retail experience, and strong financial analysis skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members in a way that provides clear and precise direction
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions
- Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times
- A thorough understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising which leads to meeting the needs of our customers/community and gaining sales and market share
- A strong business acumen
