Job Summary
Oversees and leads the operations of all stores within the assigned area, driving area sales growth and ensuring execution of company objectives. Responsibilities include developing and leading store teams, administering HR policies, delivering superior customer service, managing inventories and loss prevention, planning and executing objectives, optimizing scheduling and staffing, recruiting and developing employees, identifying new business opportunities (distribution flow, merchandising, real estate/site selection, training, and employee relations), and communicating divisional and regional priorities to store teams. Required skills include leadership, financial analysis, budgeting, multi-unit management, customer service excellence, strategic planning, merchandising, and effective cross-functional collaboration. Note includes weekly travel in a company-provided vehicle and a current driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Four+ years retail management experience with progressively more responsibility, managing multi-unit operations in retail, grocery or convenience store operations with full P&L responsibility
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Big-box retail management and/or equivalent education and experience
- Demonstrated results-oriented leadership and the ability to model Dollar General's mission and values
- Financial analysis skills to interpret operating statements, manage budgets, and control inventory
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to recruit, train, and develop staff; strong customer service focus
- Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
