Job Summary
Operate the front counter point-of-sale system, welcome and assist customers during entry and exit, and direct sales associates via the PA system. Answer phone calls, recommend products, and handle cash transactions while bagging merchandise. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked sales floor and receive merchandise shipments. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. This part-time role at Big 5 Sporting Goods offers flexible scheduling and requires basic math skills and strong communication abilities.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic organizational and/or applicable math skills
- Detail-oriented and reliable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must possess basic knowledge of sporting goods
- Must regularly work at least 1560 hours per year to maintain Medical, Dental eligibility
- Must work at least 1000 hours per year to qualify for 401k eligibility
