Job Summary
Drive profitability by managing inventory through planning, forecasting, replenishing, and transfers across multiple locations. Analyze category selling data to develop sales plans, promotional activities, and exit strategies that meet or exceed margin objectives. Negotiate vendor terms and pricing to optimize cost of goods sold while maintaining relationships. Create final assortments by planning quantities, styles, and key item strategies, then report weekly metrics and attend monthly Open-To-Buy meetings. Visit stores regularly to evaluate operations, inventory movement, and displays, resolving order issues and arranging timely returns. Partner with E-Commerce to present fresh products and maintain up-to-date market knowledge. During the 14-week season, work one shift per week with a 6-day schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A) from four-year college or university in Business, or other related field
- 1 - 2 years related inventory management or buying experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and OneNote
- Advanced in Excel
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Good communication skills – both verbal and written
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, and reach
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis
- Must have close, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends during the company's in-season time period
- Must be able to drive company vehicle to other locations

- Bachelor's degree (B.A) from four-year college or university in Business, or other related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Multiple locations a plus
- Experience with inventory management systems such as Counter Point or Retail Clarity a plus but not required
