Retail Business Development/Sales

Job Summary
Develop and lead retail-centric sales growth for a fresh produce importer/shipper by acquiring new grocery retail partners and expanding existing accounts. Create and execute a retail-focused business/marketing plan across channels (independent, regional, national, government, and mass market), establish and manage a budget, build a CRM-driven sales pipeline, and coordinate day-to-day supply and distribution activities. Travel to customer headquarters, prospects, store visits, trade shows, and company facilities as required. Must have 5-10 years of fresh produce sales experience, a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), and be adept at managing multiple priorities. Proficiency with retail portals (EDI, iTrade, Foodlink, Retail Link) and strong interpersonal, written, and presentation skills are essential. The role is ideally based in the Eastern U.S. with consideration for hybrid or home-based arrangements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 5-10 years of fresh produce sales experience
- Experience developing business with retail grocery chains in the Fruit Category
- Experience working within retail portals (EDI, iTrade, Foodlink, Retail Link)
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated success developing business with new grocery retail chain accounts
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
