Job Summary
Retail Business Development Manager on the East Coast (Northeast preferred) with remote work and travel. Focused on developing new business and accounts, supporting existing clients, and expanding revenue through market strategies, merchandising programs, and distributor relationships. Responsible for day-to-day sales activities, account retention, proposals and market analysis to meet financial targets, collaborating with the VP National Sales and sales organization. Requires bachelor’s degree, 5+ years in fresh produce value-add/retail sales, strong MS Office skills, excellent verbal/written communication, and ability to travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (e.g., marketing, finance, management)
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Fresh Produce Value-Add sales, Value-added, retail experience required
- Must display working competency in generally accepted accounting principles
- Must be PC literate, with knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of spreadsheet software is essential
- Must have knowledge of the internet and website e-commerce
- Professional appearance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills -Able to work with minimal to no supervision
- Customer service driven -Able to multi-task
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
- Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials,establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Ability to travel frequently and without constraints
