Job Summary
Greets customers, processes payments, and issues receipts while providing product information and store knowledge. Sorts and stocks merchandise onto shelves, bins, or pegs according to style, size, or type, and re-organizes product displays. Checks shelves for low stock, re-fills from the stockroom, and ensures bin tags and pricing are accurate. Assists in unpacking new merchandise, setting up displays, and performing inventory counts. May transport customer purchases to vehicles and perform related clerical duties such as preparing transfer slips. Entry-level position with on-the-job training; hourly rate between $18 and $20.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of company products and company standards
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Good math skills
- Good customer service skills
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds
- Must be able to perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing or kneeling
