Retail Associate - FT (3-month contract)

Job Summary
Provide friendly, professional customer service, assist customers with product selection and inquiries, and process cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately. Balance the cash drawer, complete opening and closing procedures, and receive, price, stock, and merchandise products on the sales floor. Maintain attractive product displays, ensure merchandise is organized, and keep the sales floor, cash area, warehouse, and surrounding work areas clean. Safely move and load furniture and other merchandise using proper lifting techniques and equipment, while inspecting merchandise before placing it on the sales floor. Follow health and safety policies, including the use of required personal protective equipment and steel-toe footwear. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily store operations, perform other duties as assigned, and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience
- Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the workday
- Ability to wear steel-toe footwear as required
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check
Desired Qualifications
- Retail sales experience
- Experience operating a point-of-sale system and handling cash transactions
- Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment
