Job Summary
Assist with day-to-day store operations and performance under direct supervision, ensuring respectful customer service to donors and processing donations according to agency standards. Clear outside donations at shift start and end, stock and maintain merchandise displays, and handle cash register transactions including bagging purchases and daily bank deposits. Participate in pricing, selling, and loss control by monitoring suspicious activity, while ensuring a clean, safe environment and proper dressing room maintenance. Available to work a variety of hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, with regular attendance required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Ability to work semi-independently
- Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean appearance
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
- Ability and willingness to utilize excellent customer service skills
- Ability to read, write and effectively communicate with customers, peers and management
- Ability to answer the telephone in a prompt and courteous manner
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision when appropriate
- Ability to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings and weekends
- Ability to bend, reach, stand, talk or hear
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds on a regular basis
