Job Summary
Greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, and enter customer information into a smart device. Sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items while testing, cleaning, and marking small appliances, housewares, shoes, and seasonal merchandise. Conduct sales transactions, maintain cash and credit card controls, and follow proper procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and payments. Clean bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break rooms, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock areas, store exteriors, and merchandise counters. Report maintenance issues and assist customers with pricing, fitting rooms, recycling bags, and store operations. Work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of electronic devices
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Regularly required to stand and/or walk for long periods
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- With assistance, must be able to push/pull rolling carts weighing up to 530 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- 6 months of related experience or training is highly desirable
- Prior cashiering experience is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
