Job Summary
Greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, and enter customer information into smart devices. Sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items while testing, cleaning, and marking small appliances, housewares, shoes, and seasonal merchandise. Conduct sales transactions and maintain control of cash and credit card transactions by following proper procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, and payments. Clean bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break rooms, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock areas, store exteriors, and merchandise counters, reporting any maintenance issues. Price merchandise, assist customers in fitting rooms, offer recycling bags, and explain store operations to enhance sales and community image. Work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of electronic devices
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Regularly required to stand and/or walk for long periods
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel

- Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds

Desired Qualifications
- 6 months of related experience or training is highly desirable
- Prior cashiering experience is a plus
