Job Summary
Retail Assistant Manager is responsible for delivering excellent customer service while supporting the Store Manager in all store and lumber yard operations. Responsibilities include supervising and developing store and yard team members, directing inventory management and merchandising, unloading freight, handling administrative tasks (payroll, scheduling, reports), aiding in loss prevention, maintaining safety and training programs, ensuring a clean, well-stocked store, and acting in the Store Manager’s absence. Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and leadership skills are required, along with proficiency with computer systems and the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks. The role is full-time (45 hours/week) with days, evenings, and weekends as needed, and requires High School Diploma or GED and retail experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of Retail Experience (preferred in hardware/lumber industry)
- Experience supervising employees a plus
- Management experience a plus
