Job Summary
Retail Assistant Manager oversees daily operations of the Goodwill Mississippi retail location, guides the sales team, and coordinates backroom processes with the Retail Store Manager and Sales Executive. Responsibilities include achieving store sales quotas, training and developing staff, handling donations processing, pricing and merchandising, managing cash and POS operations, enforcing policies and audit requirements, ensuring customer service excellence, loss prevention, scheduling and payroll tasks, budgeting, and maintaining a safe, confidential work environment. The role requires open availability, ability to travel between locations, and compliance with background checks and screenings. The position emphasizes backroom optimization, personnel functions, and leadership to maximize store performance while upholding company values.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED preferred or at least one year of management experience in retail or related fields
- National Retail Federation (NRF) Certification within one year of job acceptance
- Open availability
- Ability to transfer to other working locations
- Valid driver license
- Pass alcohol/drug screenings and criminal background check
- Working knowledge of computers (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to supervise cash handling, scheduling, payroll, and budgeting
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (50 pounds for specific zones) and stand/walk for long periods
Desired Qualifications
