Job Summary
Oversee front-of-house operations by managing admissions, handling animal encounter bookings, and leading the retail gift shop display. Respond to customer enquiries via phone or email while maintaining clear communication between the front-of-house team and wider zoo staff. Ensure consistent service standards and a welcoming environment for visitors from across New Zealand and the world. This part-time role offers leadership development, full training, and access to on-site parking, joining a team dedicated to conservation and connecting people with nature.
Required Qualifications
- previous customer service, retail or hospitality experience
- confident taking responsibility and leading a team when required
- can communicate clearly and professionally
- are adaptable (as priorities change throughout the day)
- happy to take initiative and enjoy solving problems
- share in our commitment to conservation, education and community engagement
- Permanent Part Time position on Friday & Saturday, 9am – 5pm (16 hours per week)
