Job Summary
Restricted Short-Term Substitute Teacher for Hardy County Schools. The role requires a WV Restricted Short-Term Substitute Teaching Permit, an Associate’s degree (or minimum equivalency hours) with a 2.0+ GPA, and documented training in classroom management and WV and county policies. Applicants must meet age and background requirements, complete all county and WVDE trainings, provide transcripts and references, and undergo a background check. Required Qualifications
- WV Restricted Short Term Substitute Teaching Permit
- Overall GPA of 2.0 or better
- Associate's degree from a regionally accredited IHE or minimum equivalency hours (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours with 2.0 GPA)
- Evidence of competencies in English, reading, writing, mathematics
- 18 clock hours of training in classroom management, state and local policies, WV Content Standards and Objectives, and school law overview (with no more than 6 hours of classroom observation) or successful clinical experience within one year
- Completion of required county and WVDE trainings
- Must be at least 21 years old
- No recent unsatisfactory evaluations; no unfavorable references; no dismissal or non-renewal for cause
- Submit application online or in-person, two letters of reference, transcripts, copy of certification, and background check upon request
