Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. Perform mobility, balance, and strengthening exercises while using adaptive equipment for fall prevention, turning, positioning, and basic range of motion. Assist with training for special programs to improve quality of life and independence. Execute dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, exercise, and eating programs. Obtain resident reports prior to care, document progress, and promptly report changes in condition. Demonstrate correct use of ice, paraffin baths, and heat packets per state regulations. Utilize the EMR accurately, handle linens per guidelines, and maintain infection prevention policies using personal protective equipment. Wash hands between cares and report resident infection symptoms to staff.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
