Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. Conduct mobility, balance, and strengthening exercises while performing adaptive equipment use, fall prevention, turning, positioning, and range of motion techniques. Assist with grooming, bathing, toileting, eating, and swallowing programs, and accurately utilize the EMR to document progress and report changes in resident conditions. Maintain infection prevention policies and use personal protective equipment correctly. Obtain resident reports prior to care and dispose of linens in adherence to regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be CNA certified
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
