Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. Execute mobility, balance, and strengthening exercises while performing bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating programs. Obtain resident reports prior to care, document progress, and promptly report changes in condition. Maintain infection prevention protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and hand hygiene between cares. Utilize adaptive equipment for positioning, range of motion exercises, and fall prevention. Manage linens and supplies in adherence to regulations while using the EMR accurately. This role supports quality care for seniors in a Christian environment at GSS SD Canistota Ctr.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
