Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. Execute mobility, balance, and strengthening exercises, including adaptive equipment use, fall prevention, and proper turning and positioning techniques. Manage personal care tasks such as dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, and eating programs while maintaining infection control protocols and using personal protective equipment. Document resident progress, report changes in condition promptly, and utilize the EMR accurately. Obtain resident reports prior to care delivery and adhere to state-specific regulations for treatments like ice and heat applications.
Required Qualifications
- Must be CNA certified
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
