Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. Execute mobility, balance, and strengthening exercises, including adaptive equipment use, fall prevention, and proper turning and positioning techniques. Assist with training for special programs to improve residents' quality of life and functional independence. Perform personal care tasks such as dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, and eating programs while demonstrating correct use of ice, paraffin baths, and heat packets. Obtain resident reports prior to care, document progress and behaviors, and promptly report changes in condition. Maintain infection prevention policies, use personal protective equipment, and wash hands between cares. Utilize the EMR accurately and handle linens and supplies in adherence to regulations. This day shift role at GSS SD Canistota Ctr requires CNA certification and involves a weekly schedule of 32 hours with a location premium and sign-on bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Motor vehicle report
- Proof of valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
