Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. Execute mobility, balance, and strengthening exercises, including adaptive equipment use, fall prevention, and proper turning and positioning techniques. Assist with grooming, bathing, toileting, and eating programs while obtaining resident reports prior to care. Document progress, recognize changes in condition, and report symptoms of infection to staff promptly. Adhere to infection prevention policies, use personal protective equipment, and follow state-specific regulations for procedures like ice and paraffin baths. Use the EMR accurately and handle linens in adherence to disposal guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Motor vehicle report
- Proof of valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
- An accepted offer will require a drug screen
- Pre-employment background screening
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
