Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. Execute mobility, balance, and strengthening exercises while incorporating adaptive equipment, fall prevention, and proper positioning techniques. Assist with grooming, bathing, toileting, and eating programs, and accurately document resident progress and report changes in condition. Adhere to infection prevention policies, use personal protective equipment, and utilize the EMR for care records. Obtain resident reports prior to care and maintain compliance with state-specific regulations for procedures like ice baths and heat packets.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
