Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. Conduct mobility, balance, and strengthening exercises incorporating therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment, and fall prevention techniques. Assist with training for special programs to improve residents' functional independence while obtaining reports prior to care. Perform dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, and eating programs, and demonstrate correct use of ice, paraffin baths, and heat packets. Document resident progress and promptly report changes in condition, recognizing and reporting infection symptoms to appropriate staff. Maintain compliance with infection prevention policies, use personal protective equipment, and wash hands between cares. Use the EMR accurately and handle linens in adherence to regulations. Requires CNA certification, a valid driver's license, and completion of 40 hours of restorative care training.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Motor vehicle report
- Proof of valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
- Accepted offer will require a drug screen
- Pre-employment background screening
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
