Job Summary
Conduct resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance, including mobility exercises, bathing, toileting, and grooming, under the supervision of a registered nurse. Obtain resident reports prior to care, document progress and behavior changes, and report symptoms of infections promptly. Implement special programs to improve quality of life and maintain functional independence while adhering to infection prevention policies and using personal protective equipment. Utilize the EMR accurately, manage linens and supplies per regulations, and demonstrate correct application of ice, paraffin baths, and heat packets. Obtain a CNA certification with at least 40 hours of specific restorative care training.
Required Qualifications
- Must be CNA certified
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
