Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. Deliver age-appropriate care for physical and psychological needs per care plans, including mobility exercises, fall prevention, turning, positioning, and basic range of motion activities. Assist with grooming, bathing, toileting, eating, and swallowing programs while obtaining resident reports and documenting progress. Maintain infection prevention protocols, use personal protective equipment, and report resident symptoms promptly. Full-time day shift with 32 weekly hours. Requires CNA certification and valid driver's license. Located at GSS SD Canistota Ctr in Canistota, SD.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
