Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under RN supervision. Conduct mobility, balance, and strengthening exercises, including adaptive equipment use, fall prevention, and proper turning and positioning techniques. Assist with grooming, bathing, toileting, eating, and swallowing programs while documenting progress and promptly reporting changes in resident condition. Maintain infection prevention standards by using personal protective equipment, washing hands between cares, and disposing of linens according to regulations. Utilize the EMR accurately and participate in special programs designed to improve resident independence and quality of life.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
