Job Summary
Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. Conduct mobility, balance, and strengthening exercises, including adaptive equipment use, fall prevention, turning, positioning, and range of motion exercises. Assist with grooming, bathing, toileting, eating, and swallowing programs while obtaining resident reports and documenting progress. Recognize and report changes in resident conditions promptly, maintain infection prevention protocols, and use the EMR accurately. This day shift role at GSS SD Canistota Ctr requires CNA certification and offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus with a weekly schedule of 32 hours.
Required Qualifications
- Must be CNA certified
- Minimum age of 16
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Completion of a C.NA training program
- Training if required by state
- At least 40 hours of specific training related to restorative care procedures
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Valid driver's license
- Medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
