Job Summary
Perform restorative nursing procedures that maximize residents' existing abilities and emphasize independence while minimizing the negative effects of disability in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards. Conduct daily care for both long-term and short-term care residents, focusing on rehabilitation and restorative therapy practices. Maintain effective verbal and written communication with elderly patients and their families while navigating complex nursing and medical laws governing long-term care facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing and currently licensed by the State of Alabama
- Previous experience or completion of appropriate training program in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulations and guidelines governing long-term care
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Comfort and positive attitude in communicating with the elderly who have multiple nursing care needs
