Job Summary
Develop and supervise the restorative nursing program, acting as the liaison between formalized therapy and nursing to promote restorative philosophy across facility departments. Conduct daily rounds to evaluate patient care, monitor nursing practices, and oversee functional and rehabilitation assessments for new and existing patients. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing, Human Resources, and therapy specialists to develop restorative plans of care, review weekly documentation, and ensure proper ADL and incontinence management. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for care planning, QAPI meetings, and education initiatives while actively participating in physical restraint reduction and fall management programs. Serve as the Medicare Services Coordinator (MDS Coordinator) as needed to ensure compliance with government regulations and legal aspects of nursing practice.
Required Qualifications
- 3 – 5 years of Restorative Nursing experience
- The incumbent must be a nurse currently registered with the State Board of Nursing
- Current CPR certification
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
- Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position
- Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the facility
- Must be able to push, pull move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
- May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
Desired Qualifications
- Current Restorative Nurse certification in accordance with state regulations preferred
