Job Summary
Restaurant Server (PM) at The Summit Hotel provides prompt and courteous food and beverage service to restaurant guests, greets and takes orders, serves meals and beverages, accommodates special requests, maintains cleanliness and service standards, memorizes menu items and daily specials to answer questions and make recommendations, handles guest checks and payments, attends pre-meal and departmental meetings, and maintains a professional appearance and courteous demeanor while contributing to a positive guest experience. This role emphasizes guest service, accuracy in order taking and payments, adherence to health standards, and teamwork in a hotel dining environment.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school education or equivalent experience
- Three - six months in a food/beverage services environment or establishment
- Must have vision ability to clearly see detailed guest checks, computer print outs, written instructions and to observe entire restaurant in dimly lit conditions
- Must have manual coordination to punch buttons, grasp items in hand, and to balance and carry trays loaded with food and beverages
- Able to read, speak and understand English
- Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs
- Stand continuously for long periods of time
- Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests
