Job Summary
Restaurant Server at Hilton Garden Inn Blacksburg University to join the food and beverage team with morning hours. Responsibilities include taking food and beverage orders, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and meals to guests, collecting payments, maintaining the restaurant area and equipment, checking IDs for alcohol service, presenting menus and answering questions, stocking service areas, preparing tables and glassware, assisting the host with reservations or seating, and providing guests with information about local areas. The role may involve describing menu items and wine, preparing drinks, and ensuring guest satisfaction through courteous, efficient service. Expected qualifications include High School/GED, English proficiency, and TIPS or CARE certification (or ability to obtain).
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED or Work Equivalent
- Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service preferred
- TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certified, or become certified by first day on the job
- Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sales system
- Must have good understanding of the English language and previous guest/customer relations experience
