Job Summary
John Knox Village is seeking to fill multiple restaurant positions including Food Service Associate, Host/Hostess, Dishwasher, and Cook. These roles offer competitive hourly pay with the possibility for gratuities in full-service restaurant positions. Candidates should be at least 16 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED. Required skills include basic cash handling, cost control awareness, and the ability to work irregular hours. All positions require a current Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification. Full-time positions come with benefits including up to 5 weeks of PTO annually.
Required Qualifications
- Candidate must be at least 16 years of age
- Must obtain current Food Handler Permit within 15 days of start date
- Beginner level knowledge of cash handling and cash register operation
- Awareness of cost control responsibilities of the position within the Department
- Ability to work irregular hours
- Ability to speak in simple sentences
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
- Ability to perform tasting and/or smelling
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but straight-forward written or oral instructions
