Job Summary
Conduct routine inspections of restaurant premises to identify maintenance needs in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Perform repairs on kitchen appliances, lighting, doors, and furniture, including carpentry tasks like framing and installing shelves. Maintain and service critical equipment such as refrigeration units, ovens, and dishwashers while managing inventory of tools and spare parts. Respond promptly to emergency requests for leaks, power outages, or equipment breakdowns to minimize operational disruptions. Ensure compliance with safety regulations by maintaining fire extinguishers and emergency exits. Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities and provide regular reports to management. Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate urgent facility needs.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in general maintenance, repair work, and facility management, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting, 2-5 years
- Proficiency in various maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and painting
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively
- Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices for maintenance and repair work
- Ability to perform tasks that may require lifting heavy objects, working in confined spaces, and standing or kneeling for extended periods
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with restaurant staff, management, and external contractors
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate maintenance needs and emergencies
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to maintenance duties
