Job Summary
Oversee front-end operations for the Culinary Institute's restaurant and bakeshop, including taking orders, entering point of sales data, serving food and drinks, clearing tables, and polishing equipment. Assist with retail, community workshops, charity events, and special nights, maintaining reservations systems while ensuring exceptional guest service. Support the college's mission through student mentorship and retention efforts. Must be available Thursday evenings and Friday mornings, with a valid driver's license required for driving duties.
Required Qualifications
- Must be available Thursday evenings and Friday mornings
- Current enrolled and active student at Sussex County Community College
- Comfortable interacting with the public in a professional manner
- Demonstrate ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English at a level that meets the need for clear and effective communication
- Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility around the kitchen labs, storage areas and dining room for periods of up to five hours in length
- Ability to provide exceptional guest experiences
- Demonstrate ability to tolerate demanding workloads effectively under stress and maintain professional composure in a variety of scenarios
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift 35lbs comfortably
- Ability to work with a broad spectrum of students found in a community college environment with emphasis on student mentorship and retention
- Ability to exercise good judgment concerning College policies and procedures
- Maintaining a valid driver's license in good standing with DMV for those jobs that require driving
- 365 days within which to establish a primary residence in NJ
