Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, ranges, fryers, and refrigeration units across Montana. Perform preventive maintenance, install new gear, and troubleshoot electrical, gas, and mechanical systems while reading schematics and verifying safe operation. Coordinate parts orders, maintain service records, and communicate repair timelines with customers. This field role involves driving to customer locations, potential overnight stays, and on-call emergency service with exposure to heat, grease, and confined spaces.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience repairing commercial restaurant equipment, refrigeration systems, or related mechanical equipment
- Working knowledge of electrical controls, gas appliances, and refrigeration fundamentals
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues independently
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Strong troubleshooting, time-management, and customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and safely perform physical job duties
- Comfortable driving to customer locations
- May occasionally be required to stay overnight for service calls outside the local area
- After-hours, weekend, overtime, and on-call emergency service work when needed
Desired Qualifications
- EPA 608 Certification
- CFESA Certification
- HVAC/R or refrigeration experience
- Factory or manufacturer training on commercial foodservice equipment
- Experience servicing both hot-side and cold-side equipment
