Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities including personal care, hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, and running errands. Offer emotional support, establish relationships with clients and families, and promote mental alertness through age-appropriate activities. Maintain records of client progress and services performed, reporting changes to supervisors. Instruct clients on household management, hygiene, nutrition, and infant care. Participate in case reviews, attend required in-service training, and adhere to all agency policies.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation
- Active listening skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references
- Must have an automobile
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of car insurance
- Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- More than two years of experience
