Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being while delivering simple emotional and psychological support. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, and running errands. Maintain records of client progress and report changes in condition to supervisors. Actively promote mental alertness through age-appropriate activities and instruct clients on household management, nutrition, and hygiene. Participate in case reviews to evaluate client needs and attend required in-service training. Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, including passing a criminal background check. Requires a valid driver's license, automobile, and proof of insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation
- Active listening skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references
- Must have an automobile
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of car insurance
- Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
