Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, and housekeeping duties such as cooking, cleaning, and running errands. Offer simple emotional support, promote mental alertness through engaging activities, and instruct clients on household management. Maintain accurate records of client progress and services performed, reporting changes to supervisors. Participate in case reviews to evaluate needs and plan continuing services while adhering to all agency policies. Complete required in-service training and pass criminal background checks. This part-time role with Neuropath Behavioral Healthcare offers an opportunity for full-time employment, supporting families of children and teens with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation
- Active listening skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references
- Must have an automobile
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of car insurance
- Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to stand, bend and for prolonged periods
