Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities including personal care, hygiene, ambulation, and housekeeping duties such as cooking and cleaning. Promote mental alertness through therapeutic activities and instruct clients on household management, nutrition, and hygiene. Prepare and maintain records of client progress, reporting changes to supervisors, and participate in case reviews to evaluate needs. Adhere to all agency policies and attend required in-service training. Must possess a valid driver's license, automobile, and proof of car insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation
- Active listening skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references
- Must have an automobile
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of car insurance
- Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to perform prolonged periods of standing, bending and lifting
