Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, and household tasks like cooking and cleaning. Offer emotional support, promote mental alertness through engaging activities, and instruct clients on nutrition and hygiene. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report changes to supervisors. Participate in case reviews and attend required in-service training while adhering to agency policies. Requires a valid driver's license, automobile, and proof of car insurance. High school diploma required with two years of experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references required
- Must have an automobile and a valid driver's license
- Must have proof of car insurance
- Pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending and lifting
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
