Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety, well-being, and mental alertness through therapeutic activities. Assist with daily living tasks including personal hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, and running errands while maintaining accurate records of client progress. Offer simple emotional support to clients and families, instruct them on household management, and participate in case reviews to evaluate ongoing needs. Adhere to all agency policies, complete required in-service training, and pass a criminal background check. This part-time role offers an opportunity for full-time employment within a team supporting families of children with developmental disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation
- Active listening skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references
- Must have an automobile
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of car insurance
- Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
