Job Summary
Monitor and support residents' behavior using trauma-informed care and positive reinforcement techniques while implementing individualized behavioral support plans. Provide direct supervision, mentoring, and crisis intervention using approved Physical/Psychological Management Training (PMT) techniques. Assist residents with daily living activities including hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks, and transport them to medical appointments and community programs. Organize structured therapeutic activities, maintain accurate records in the Electronic Health Record system, and communicate effectively with team members and clinical staff. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and treatment planning discussions while ensuring compliance with agency policies and state regulations. Secure the facility by performing safety checks and monitoring medication storage.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year working with individuals with emotional, behavioral, or developmental disabilities in a residential or community setting
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet transportation requirements as needed
- Ability to complete and maintain relevant certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, crisis intervention)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to be on feet for extended periods
- Must be flexible to work across various educational, residential, and group home settings as needed
- Must be available for early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, mandated overtime, and on call responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, or a related human services field
