Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety, well-being, and mental alertness through therapeutic activities. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, and household errands while instructing clients on nutrition and hygiene. Maintain accurate records of client progress and services performed, reporting condition changes to supervisors. Participate in case reviews, in-service training, and adhere to all agency policies. This part-time role supports families of children and teens with developmental disabilities, offering relief and engaging youth in age-appropriate activities.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation
- Active listening skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references
- Must have an automobile
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of car insurance
- Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
