Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, and running errands. Offer simple emotional and psychological support while establishing a relationship with the client and family. Prepare and maintain records of client progress and services performed, reporting changes to the manager. Actively promote mental alertness through involvement in age-appropriate activities and instruct clients on household management and nutrition. Adhere to agency policies, attend required in-service training, and participate in case reviews to evaluate client needs. Must possess a valid driver's license, automobile, and proof of insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients.
- Minimum of three references required
- Must have an automobile and a valid driver's license
- Must have proof of car insurance
- Pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending and lifting
