Job Summary
Deliver community-based behavioral health respite services to children, adolescents, and families by building positive, trusting relationships and providing direct supervision during activities. Assist youth in developing social, communication, coping, and independent living skills while implementing individualized goals from their care plans. Encourage positive behaviors through coaching and modeling, plan age-appropriate recreational and educational experiences, and transport clients safely to approved community locations. Maintain regular communication with caregivers and the treatment team, complete accurate documentation including billing, and identify community resources supporting youth development. Work part-time Monday through Thursday evenings with weekend availability, requiring a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for daily travel throughout the service area.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Education, or a related field
- Ability to establish rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with supervisors and team members
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with smartphones, tablets, and Microsoft Office applications
- Availability to work after-school hours, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to travel throughout the service area daily
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable personal vehicle available for daily travel
- Acceptable driving record
- Minimum automobile liability insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000
- Ability to safely transport clients in accordance with agency policies
- Ability to safely assist youth during recreational activities when necessary
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle throughout the workday
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Education, or a related field
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with behavioral health needs
- Previous experience providing respite, behavioral health, case management, mentoring, or youth development services
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavioral interventions, or crisis prevention techniques
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
