Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, and running errands. Promote mental alertness through therapeutic activities and offer emotional support to clients and families. Maintain accurate records of client progress and services, reporting condition changes to supervisors. Participate in case reviews and attend required in-service training while adhering to all agency policies.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation
- Active listening skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references
- Must have an automobile
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of car insurance
- Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to perform prolonged periods of standing, bending and lifting
