Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, and running errands. Offer simple emotional and psychological support while engaging clients in therapeutic activities to promote mental alertness. Maintain records of client progress and report changes to supervisors. Instruct clients on household cleanliness, nutrition, and hygiene. Participate in case reviews and attend required in-service training while adhering to all agency policies. Requires a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a clean criminal background check.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation
- Active listening skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references
- Must have an automobile
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of car insurance
- Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
