Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, ambulation, and housekeeping tasks like cooking and laundry. Offer emotional support, promote mental alertness through engaging activities, and instruct clients on household management. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report changes to supervisors. Participate in case reviews to evaluate needs and plan continuing services while attending required in-service training. Adhere to all agency policies and procedures. This part-time role offers an opportunity for full-time employment within a behavioral healthcare organization supporting families with developmental disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation
- Active listening skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Close monitoring of clients
- Minimum of three references
- Must have an automobile
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of car insurance
- Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to perform prolonged periods of standing, bending and lifting
